Peyton Manning looks like he'll miss at least week 1 of the NFL regular season with a neck injury, and reports are that it could be even longer. It's an interesting story because all offseason long it seemed like it would be a minor issue. Peyton's hurting in the offseason, but as soon as the season kicked off, he'd be out there moving the Colts offense up and down the field, just like he always does. But not this time. Reports are that it could take him as long as 4-6 weeks to get back, or in an ultra worst-case scenario he could even need another procedure on his neck, which would likely put him on the IR and out for the year.

The NFL just wouldn't be the same without Peyton Manning in it. The Colts will likely be terrible with Collins at the helm, leaving the Patriots, Steelers, Chargers, and Jets as really the only contenders in the AFC. I like San Diego to finally get over the hump this year, as Philip Rivers is a great quarterback and he will eventually lead them to the promised land. This year could be the year.
